I don’t know if those ‘stay in bed and read a good book’ days actually exist, but gosh don’t they sound glorious! A warm mug of coffee or tea, a bowl of snacks, a cozy blanket, and uninterrupted hours to get lost with fictitious characters. Sigh.
In the meantime, I’ll grab a spare minute or two and thumb through delicious design books and gorgeous gourmet cookbooks. Just as much my happy place as the ‘stay in bed’ dreamland. Here are some books I am excited about this season, plus 3 kid-friendly favorites because…. #hallidaybaby!
I eat up every word that designer/stylist Emily Henderson posts on her blog – so why would her coffee table design book be any different? Packed with attainable design tips and images of interiors that make you drool, I have no doubt this will be a popular favorite for many.
The one and only Queen Martha does it again with her new collection of appetizer recipes. Let’s be honest, we are all guilty of scrambling at the very last second to find that first-course favorite that will please a crowd. The Queen saves the day!
Instagram favorite and children’s creative genius Merrilee Liddiard, @mer_meg, has launched her first book full of adorable crafts perfect to make for and with kids! I’m not ashamed to admit that I love me some arts and crafts, and I have no doubt that my creative passions will further ignite once we have little ones running around our home.
Had to. Madeline is a classic! Adorable artistry and quirky tales, this collection of her classics deserves a place on every little one’s bookshelf. Available at Anthropologie! {all 3 of my kids book favorites are available at Anthro! their baby and kid section is perfect, perfect, perfect!}
A MADELINE TREASURY, LUDWIG BEMELMANS
Such cute board books for baby! Why not start discovering different cities and states as soon as we can? The artwork is just plain precious too!
Another adorable classic. I can’t wait to rediscover this book with our first-born when the time is right. An imaginative adventure tale that any adult or child can easily adore.
THE LITTLE PRINCE, ANTOINE DE SAINT-EXUPERY
Fill your bookshelves, feed your mind, and find that day to spend reading in bed!
